Getting Your Face Out of Facebook

With over 500 million users, just about everyone is on Facebook these days. Social networking is a fantastic tool for staying connected with friends and family, and it’s even a great tool for business – when used correctly. Unfortunately, as great as it may be, one might want to leave Facebook for whatever reason.  It could be they accidentally created a duplicate account, they want a fresh start, or maybe they just feel uncomfortable with the ongoing privacy concerns with the network.

Anyone who’s attempted to delete a Facebook account before is without a doubt more than aware the process of deleting a Facebook account is less than obvious.

If you are in the market to delete your Facebook account, simply follow the instructions below:

First thing you’ll want to do is click this link after you’ve logged into your Facebook account; doing so will bring you to the following screen:

To begin the process of deleting your account, all it takes is selecting the Submit button. Upon selecting Submit, you’ll be taken to a screen where you are required to enter CAPACHA and then your account password.

Seems simple enough, but here is the kicker. Be sure to do absolutely nothing with your Facebook account for the next 2 weeks.  If you login or interact with Facebook in any way the process will the reversed.  This means:

  • Do not login to Facebook.
  • Do not Like, Share, or anything else.
  • Do not use “Facebook Connect” on any website.
As long as you avoid those three simple actions you are home free – after 2 week your information will never be seen on Facebook again. (Unless of course you change your mind!)
